Creeping Cloud
© Marc Nader 2011
< I was sipping my rapidly-getting-cold-coffee on the terrace overlooking the slopes at Faraya (Lebanon) when I noticed this afternoon cloud peeping from the horizon. It appeared to me like a gigantic caterpillar crawling up the mountain top. It was moving pretty fast for a cloud, so I had to rapidly grab my camera set it up and shoot before it changed into another shape... At one point I saw that skier speeding down from the right towards the scene. That's what I call luck ... Couple seconds later, he reached the right spot and I clicked. Et voilà! I like the minimal number of elements in this composition, therefore its simplicity (typical of my approach to composition ...). It was initially shot in color but I tought BW would give it more boldness.
Camera used was a Nikon D200 equipped with a superb 24~70mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens, equivalent to a 35~105mm in the FX format.
